Child Anxiety

Dear Families,

We are communicating to you today as we have had several incidents over the last week that demonstrated how anxious students across grade levels are because of recent school shootings and mass shootings. We are obviously devastated to hear about the mass shooting and our hearts go out to these students, families, school staff, and the community.

Principal's Message

My name is Dr. Percy Napier, and I am beginning my first year as principal of this dynamic and diverse school community.  While I am new to Garfield, I have been a principal in Revere for the past seven years.  During this time, I have seen firsthand the tremendous promise and potential of our children.  As a result, there is nothing more important to me than ensuring that the educational experience we provide allows students to have the access and opportunity to achieve a promising and fulfilling future.  We want to grow scholars who think critically, innovatively, and have a passion for learning.  Garfield administrators, teachers, and staff are committed to working tirelessly to provide a world class education that will achieve these outcomes, and we look forward to partnering with you in your child’s learning journey. Our goal is to be as accessible as possible.

We understand that our goals are only achieved when parents and teachers have a strong, productive relationship.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to me or your child’s teacher to discuss any aspect of their schooling.
